Welcome!

Founded by a fellow pain sufferer, CT Pain Foundation believes strongly in the importance of connecting those who share the feelings, frustrations, and daily challenges of living with pain. If you suffer from a pain condition or care for someone who does, you've come to the right place. We're here to help lend a healing hand.

Connect: It's not easy to live with pain. In fact, it's hard - hard to find a workable balance, to accept the limitations, to push beyond them. And along with physical pain, there's the isolation and awkwardness of living life in slow motion while the rest of the world whirls past. But you are not alone. At CT Pain Foundation, you'll discover others are out there too - struggling to redefine their lives and their relationships, and succeeding. Our support groups and other hands-on programs help build a caring community.

Inform: Those who suffer with pain know that it's a requirement to become informed. CT Pain Foundation offers helpful insight, like how to define pain in ways your doctors and care providers can comprehend, or new techniques for communicating with friends and family. Our resources help you understand the physiology and psychology of pain, plus its personal and social impacts. We encourage you to consider new methods to manage stress, and find coping skills and resources to help you overcome the depression that so easily overwhelms those of us who live with persistent pain.

Empower:  Let's face it, it's draining to live with pain. But the good news is that you are still valued. And your life, although changed, can still be fulfilling - despite the challenges of pain. Holding on to hope, and to connections who understand, you can learn to express your creativity, discover new interests, even reach out to others. We can help, providing valuable information about local, regional and national events that inform, connect and inspire.

Advocate:  It's not always easy to stay positive, but there's joy and purpose in making a difference. Take a negative and turn it around. Share your experience. Shape a new perception. Learn to speak up for yourself and the pain community. At CT Pain Foundation, we help those suffering today, providing information to help you navigate workplace issues, Worker's Compensation, or SSDI. And we care about tomorrow too, funding research for better options in treatment and prevention.
